Bad editor in Metrowerks Codewarrior

Today, most of the "standard" editors in IDEs aren't even capable of performing the most simple tasks. Why can't the Metroworks Codewarrior editor narrow its search/replace function to the currently selected text region? And other OLE-capable editors can't be embedded, this means I have to stick with this crappy editor (you're lost without IDE when you have to develop for Symbian OS). gna

Don't know which version of the IDE comes with the Symbian tools, but over here it's possible. (Select "Search selection only"). My IDE version: 5.2.1208.

Workaround: Maye you could copy text into another editor and search there. Should be quick enough, because as you write the text is already selected.

Have you tried Emacs? With ECB?

glinzt: I call the hint of using emacs an insult.

Does it support the integration of the Symbian development toolchain? So far, no other tools than the embedded editions of Metroworks Codewarrior, MS Visual Studio and Borland C++ Builder have Symbian OS support, and all lack a usable editor.

suggestion pro emacs should not be seen as an insult

you can edit your sources there, and the codewarrior ide
will recognize your changes (with a prompt ...) and compile your source just the same. in effect, you can cut with c-k
